Just ask Senior Manager Wayne Roche and Senior Consultant Tim Keesman. They joined us at different times from different starting points. But both are now thriving in their own way.

From public service to private impact

Before joining the firm, Wayne spent a year in public service – but quickly realised he was looking for more variety and challenge. That led him to BellchambersBarrett in 2017, where he joined as a Consultant.

Since then, he’s moved through the ranks, building deep expertise while leading diverse assurance and advisory projects for Commonwealth clients.

‘I started out supporting internal audits, Essential Eight maturity assessments and ICT control reviews,’ Wayne recalls. ‘Over the years, I’ve carved out a strong specialisation in technology risk and information governance… and I’m now a Senior Manager of the IT Audit team.’

But it’s not just the technical side that’s kept him here. It’s the people around him.

‘Culture is what sets our firm apart,’ Wayne adds. ‘There’s no hierarchy barrier. The partners are accessible and genuinely invested in your growth. And you’re treated like a valued team member from day one.’

A career pivot that paid off

Tim, on the other hand, studied IT at university and began his career in software development. But after taking a short break from the industry, he decided to explore a different side of tech.

That’s when he found BellchambersBarrett.

‘I’d heard great things about the firm, and the role seemed like a good fit,’ Tim says.

And it turned out to be the right move. Tim joined in early 2024 as a Consultant and progressed to Senior Consultant within a year, bringing his data analytics skills to a wide range of projects.

‘I’ve worked on everything from ICT controls to payroll remediation. That variety keeps me engaged and energised,’ he says.

‘Plus, the team is genuinely inclusive and supportive, making it easy to do your best work. And I really enjoy the Social Club and workplace events.’
