Affectionately known as ‘Franc’ within our team, Francesco Di Luzio joined BellchambersBarrett in 2015 when he was fresh out of university.

Over the 9 years that have passed since, he’s grown from strength to strength. Among his most significant achievements? Spearheading the establishment of our IT Audit team.

Today, Franc is thriving in his role as Principal in IT Audit. We thank him for sharing his story with us.

Rising from pupil to Principal

When I started at BellchambersBarrett in 2015, I was a fresh graduate with limited professional experience. But I’d heard that BellchambersBarrett has a strong and supportive team environment, with good opportunities for graduates to progress in their careers.

And I’m happy to say that I’m now a walking testament to that.

I began as Consultant and progressed to Senior Consultant within a year. By 2019, I was promoted to Manager. Three years later, I was Senior Manager. And finally, in July 2024, I was made Principal.

Switching gears to IT audit

Although I started my career in financial statement audit, I very quickly discovered IT audit – and realised that I had a strong interest in that area.

Our firm didn’t have an IT audit team at that time, as we used to outsource the task or engage an SME to assist. But the leadership team gave me its full support to pursue this path.

BellchambersBarrett established the IT Audit team in 2016 – and I have worked with the Partners to lead it ever since. Today, we’re a team of 6, specialising in delivering IT audit and assurance services to Commonwealth and State Government clients.

I also completed the Chartered Accountant (CA) program in 2019, and the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) program in 2020.
