Less talk, more doing: How our team gave back in 2025

Less talk, more doing: How our team gave back in 2025

Compassion at work can sound like corporate fluff – unless it actually shows up in how a team works every day. At BellchambersBarrett, it does.

Through fundraising events, volunteering and pro bono initiatives throughout 2025, we gave back and supported missions close to our hearts. And in the process, brought the team together for causes bigger than our organisation.

Read some of our 2025 community highlights below.

A legendary lunch

A few of our partners were thrilled to attend Ricky’s Legends Lunch in February at the stunning Doltone House at Jones Bay Wharf.

Hosted by the Ricky Stuart Foundation – of which our very own Miranda Garnett is CEO – this annual fundraising event brings together an incredible line-up of sporting greats, media personalities and business leaders. All to raise awareness for autism together.

Thanks to the support of events like Ricky’s Legends Lunch, the Ricky Stuart Foundation has delivered two state-of-the-art respite facilities in Canberra, with plans now underway for a third.

We’re proud to be the major sponsor of the next Ricky’s Legends Lunch in February 2026 – and to continue to champion its mission.

Stronger with every stroke

Over the first quarter of 2025, the BB team went from landlocked to lake-ready in client Red Shed’s inaugural Corporate Supporters Regatta.

Red Shed is a not-for-profit community facility designed to create a supportive and nurturing environment for rowers of all levels.

Over 10 weeks, the crew showed up with dedication and determination to train at the state-of-the-art Red Shed facility on Black Mountain Peninsula. And then, it was race day!

Our team went head-to-head with nine other corporate teams in a 350m knockout sprint on Lake Burley Griffin. It was fast, fun and fiercely competitive.

While the BB team was pipped to the post, we’re proud of the heart and hustle brought by every team in support of Red Shed.

Wrapping up joy

In July, our Social Club organised a wrapping party to pack 400 toys and comfort items to help brighten the day of hospital patients and their families.

This was in support of Good Omen Goodeze and the Canberra Hospitals Foundation – two local organisations supporting patient wellbeing across Canberra.

Each gift will help bring a moment of connection and comfort to patients and their families. And most importantly, act as a reminder that someone in the community is thinking of them.

Giving a helping hand

Our team dressed up and dined out for a good cause as sponsors of the Hands Across Canberra Charity Dinner in October.

Hosted by our client, Hands Across Canberra, this annual event takes place at the National Gallery of Australia to raise money for over 350 local charities.

It featured an inspiring line-up of speakers – including Her Excellency, the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor General and Nic Marchesi OAM, Co-Founder of Orange Sky.

The stories shared that night reminded us of the power of community, and how we can work together to create a better Canberra for everyone.

Pedalling for a purpose

From the office to the surrounding countryside of Jindabyne, the BB team once again took on an epic 315km two-day ride in November to raise money for Hartley Lifecare.

Hartley Lifecare is a Canberra-based non-profit organisation that provides high-quality, life-enhancing services to people with disabilities and their families.

The Hartley Cycle Challenge is the organisation’s major fundraiser. Over the past 25 years, the event has raised more than $9 million to fund its vital work.

The two days of endurance – including riding up to Perisher and then to Charlotte Pass – saw our team raise over $18,000 for Hartley Lifecare.

This money will go directly to helping Hartley Lifecare provide support for people living with a disability in Canberra. A cause close to our challenge captain Dylan Valentine’s heart. (You can read Dylan’s story here.

Supporting scientific excellence

One of our 2025 pro bono work highlight? Supporting Snow Medical Research Foundation.

Snow Medical is an Australian not-for-profit that supports visionary biomedical research leaders and their teams. It invests in early- to mid-career researchers, backing them to build teams and tackle major health challenges without the limits of short-term grant cycles.

We’re thrilled to play a part in Snow Medical’s mission to accelerate breakthroughs that can transform health outcomes in Australia and beyond.
